The Wiarton Sandpipers participated in an Advance Care Planning Workshop sponsored by Bruce Peninsula Hospice and facilitated by Marie Palmer of the Grey-Bruce Hospice Palliative Care Partnership Committee End of Life Network on Wednesday March 20th at St. John’s United Church in Wiarton.
“We were so appreciative of you all coming and sharing with us such worthwhile information.”
– Audrey Lane,
What if suddenly you were unable to speak for yourself? How would you communicate your health care choices? Have you thought about it? Have you shared it with anyone? Do you know what your partner would want? What would you do if you were called upon to make decisions about treatment and/or end of life decisions for someone you love? 70% of Canadians have not prepared a plan and 91% haven’t spoken to their healthcare provider. The choices you make at the end of life – for yourself and others – are important. Make sure that your wishes are known.
