Over fifty Bruce Peninsula Hospice volunteers, members and guests attended the Annual General Meeting on Thursday, October 27th held at the Hepworth Shallow Lake Legion.
Board members elected that evening included Jim Lonie, as well as Paul Lavigne and Susan McCallum returning as second term directors. For a full list of Board Members please click here.
Chair, Bev Ker thanked all sectors of the organization for all the work that is done together to create a vibrant whole. As we mature and grow, opportunities must be seized to ensure success in the future. David Warder, our accountant from BDO Dunwoody, gave a very thorough review of the fiscal year 2015-16 as well as explaining financial trends covering past several years. Paul Lavigne reported on the strategic plan including new services introduced in Bereavement Support and a new look to the website. Manager, Nancy Forgrave, reported on how volunteers have served more than 80 individuals and families in our community in the past year by providing visiting respite care, family support, bereavement support and visiting hospice care. Last year, Bruce Peninsula Hospice Volunteers travelled over 32,000 kilometers and provided over 1,400 hospice and bereavement calls and visits in our area.
